My children are 6 and 10 We will be there in July. Factoring local parks, public transportation, meals, hotels plain-co-op/2nd. Perhaps Everland and / or Pusan Sokcho. My guess is around 1,300 won, the U.S. EXCHG amount of $ 1

Do not bother renting a car is a waste of time (congestion), and money. Public transport is incredibly fast especially the subway.
Enjoy Korea, wants to love you.
The exchange rates of currencies come and go. 7K-10K I am quite well. The hotels are not very expensive recommended for cheaper stays.
